in the email we were also told that we wouldnt be welcome to stay in that villa again

Feel free to name the villa on the biggest website in Fethiye, so others might avoid similar abuse. I agree, there is no excuse for talking to people in this way.

raygans - please do not answer this if you would rather not, but are both villas owned by British people.

As owners of the villa in question, we would just like to make everyone aware of the circumstances regarding this booking.  The Raygans have stayed with us for the past two years as they preferred our villa to the other they had stayed in.  Last year, they missed their flight back to the UK and we let them stay in our villa for an extra whole week free of charge as a goodwill gesture even though they were not personal friends.  On return to the UK, and before Christmas 2012, they confirmed that they would like to revisit our villa in August 2013 and asked us to reserve the two weeks in peak season.  This we did even though we received no deposit.  In March 2013 as we still had not received a deposit from them we sent a reminder and were only then told that they had made alternative arrangements at another villa on site.  Our villa is our home from home and only rented out once a year to pay the bills.  We had in fact turned down a booking earlier this year for the same two weeks in August 2013 as we had promised the Raygans the villa.  We will not dignify the bigoted, personal e-mails we have received from the Raygans with a direct response but have put this down to experience.  Hopefully you will see that there are always "two sides to a story".

Will not get into a "war of words" concerning this matter only to say the booking was a provional booking to find out if the accomodation was available, i asked a question on this forum and have had plenty of replies, as said previously the email i sent to inform the owners was polite and dignified the reply was definately not polite and in fact quite abusive. I will not lower myself to advertise their villa on a public forum however please feel free to pm me for any information required.

But in fairness to them they may have anticipated a slice of future loyalty from you, having let you stay for nothing for an extra week when you missed your flight?

Totally understand what you are saying Keith, did not put a post on here to tell a story or start slating anyone on this forum, just asked a question. I pointed out we sent a polite email and received an abusive one back not just once but twice,we appreciate everyones opinion good or bad.

I think if I'd have lost a 2 week rental at any season let alone high season, I'd be none too happy either, especially having done a favour previously. I'd feel it was a boot in the face frankly!

That's blown my theory then that TR are usually the cheapest
It all depends, TR cheaper for one Hotel, Sunshine.co.uk cheaper for a differnet one and Sunmaster
for another, I look at where i want to stay then check all 3

As my first post clearly states i asked a question, did not name names. Understand them being annoyed but surely it doesnt warrent abusive childish emails a simple "thanks for letting us know but we feel really let down" would have been enough but to get personal and rude is uncalled for after all we are all adults not teenagers in a school yard.
