Dolphin Beach Hotel
« on: April 06, 2013, 17:23:17 PM »
Any news on its new owner or refurbishment folks ?
We've re-booked our June 14th fortnight but still have an
open booking (through Sunshine Holidays) for Aug 24th.

If you have a booking and Sunshine haven't contacted you then someone must have taken over the hotel which is good.  As soon as there's any movement at the Dolphin, someone on the forum will notify us.

walked past and it is still in the final throes of being renavated, a lot of work going into it but it looks good. Dont know the name of the new manager as only met him through a friend once but both him and his wife speak very good english. Think the new name is Yasmin or something like that, although the sign is very nice the style of font they have used makes it difficult to read if you arent sure to start with what it is. Doesn't look like it will be much longer in opening though. I am at the beach most days so will post if see more activity.

The sign on the front is horrid, I really struggled to read it, think it may be Yasemin with an e but not sure, striking colours but b awful font as said above!

The popularity of the Dolphin Beach amazes me, I've rarely known a hotel so loved by so many of it's clients.

(No pool but hey the sea is your pool !!!! )

Sunshine told us that our June holiday was through one 'broker'
who cancelled and our August was through another who has left the booking open.
With so many intermediaries who makes any money at the pittance they charge ?????

Yes it is difficult to work out if anyone is making anything at all when it comes to hotels in Calis. It was once explained to me from a hotelier that it is better to make nothing at all on the room and hope that the clients will drink at the bar or book an excursion etc so you can start to make a shekel or two.

Maybe thats why the Dolphin failed - No busy bar - no excursion promotion - just the evening menu to make more (shekels ?)
It was perfect for those wanting a quiet holiday in a perfect location. We hope its resurrection is successful   :)  :)  :)

We arrived back in January and had been here only a few days when we saw work being carried out
by some workers and the owner of the Pelin Hotel, they have renamed it after his wife.
I think it will lookgood, I like the sign. Good Luck to them. Hope they do well.
