Do not speak ill of the dead but their passing does not absolve them of misdeeds in life.

That is actually a very diplomatic comment - one that will be echoed in many parts of Scotland, without the diplomacy element I suspect.

One of the saddest days of my life, the greatest prime minister since Winston Churchill. she rebuilt this country, we all make mistakes in life and Maggie did too, but now give her the state funeral she deserves as we did for Winston, you were my idol. God bless you and Rest in Peace.

Hear hear Des. At the end of the day, she did what she had to do when this country was on its knees.  Her only big mistake was the Poll Tax.
Anyway, in my opinion, it's not for us to judge her as a person.  That's for a higher power which is way beyond our understanding.
