Again, I am NOT ashamed, and maybe the the persons that think names I posted should also RIP. should they be ashamed?
Reading post and comments in the media, it appears I am not alone and neither in the minority.
Now go pick on someone else and tell them to be ashamed, I am NOT!!!!!

Politics always brings out the best and the worst in people  :).

I was an active trade unionist in the Thatcher years but it doesn't stop me admiring her as a master politician and one who will be remembered by everybody who lived through that period. I can't wait for her official biography to be published. It has been written by Charles Moore, the ex editor of the Daily Telegraph. He has been given access to all her diaries but has not been able to publish until after her death.

RIP Maggie, love her or hate her, she was one in a million and oh how we could do with another like her now to sort out the political mess this country now finds itself in!!!

Loz - this is where problems arise.

Supporters of Margaret Thatcher, and there are many, do not have a problem with others who considered her an ogre.

But when people mention her name in the same breath as the names you sited, then people get upset.

If one was to use the fact that the leader of any country was/is considered a great Statesman/women, in order to tear ones hair out, & wear sackcloth & ashes on the death of such a person, surely the demise of Adolf Hitler should be, or should have been, a cause for sadness worldwide, if not, the premise that Thatcher will be lauded in the future as one of the world's greatest political leaders, is a total farce !!!!
I wondered when you would appear on this topic Gordon. a friend of mine on CBF  who happens to be a labour supporter described you as the most obnoxious person he has met, I think he was been rather kind.

Uncalled for Des and totally off topic.  Perhaps if you had had the pleasure of meeting Gordon and had formed this opinion afterwards you'd have room to talk!

No tears here either
my opinion Anne. and I stick with it.

People are of course entitled to their opinion of Mrs Thatcher and dislike her with a passion but the fact that tributes are flowing in from across the globe would suggest to me, at least, that she does not deserve to be bracketted with the likes of Ian Brady.

Well I celebrate the fact she has gone and as I promised myself many years ago, tonight I am going to have party in celebration of her passing.  Dancing on her grave, yes if I get the chance.... I despise the woman and all she stood for.  Her political legacy will be judged as economic failure, social and national/regional division, international alienation, and unlike any British government before or since, she/they put conflict as the only way of 'dealing' with those who disagreed with her, invariably leading to the use of the full forces of the state to defeat those who opposed them.

Oh and before any one tells me again what a great job she done winning back the Falklands, just remember which Goverment lost them.... Particularly to a very nasty military junta, that up to a few weeks before the falklands was invaded, had been buying arms from the thatchers Britain!
