I agree we should wait for the court case to establish innocence or guilt, but how do you prepare a defence for something that happened nearly fifty years ago?  I'd have problem remembering where I was fifty days ago.  At this stage I am not sure that justice is being served here, for both victim and alleged perpetrator.

I think even after  46 years a woman would remember being raped twice, something that is not easily forgotten.

The point I make Jacqui is not whether the woman recalls her, at this stage alleged, rape, but whether with the lapse of that amount of time whether justice can be seen to be fair in both process and balance of the rules of justice applied to both the accussed and the victim.

An admission of guilt is very different from being able to muster a defence after so many years when you might be innocent.

Well with so many people accusing him, perhaps, people who have never met each other, but tell the same story it would possible be difficult to mount a defence, however, he has pleaded guilty and for a man of his age to do that knowing he will be going to jail,  I have to think it must be true.

It's best to wait for the case to come to court before we judge this woman who has made the accusation.
Just another point, why is the accuser "this woman"? Until any guilt is proved should Bill Roache not be "that man"?

Agree with you Ken - innocent until proven guilty often looks a bit opposite to what we see.

The press always seem to be there for a celebrity arrest within seconds - who is tipping them off?

On the same sad theme, it is strange that Len Fairclough went the same way.
