Everyone is alright in the restaurants  :)

That's the thing, the sitting on your own bit, it makes people feel safer and more comfortable if they know someone, especially at the beginning. Its not so bad when you are in the hotel because you recognise fellow holiday makers at the other tables. Ive been on my own a few times and I know what Susie means. Sometimes you want to be on your own, and you don't really want it glaringly obvious that you're by yourself. Other times you could be longing for a chat. We should have a CBF sign!  - like a red rose ha-ha!

We used to have tiny CBF pin badges (which someone took great pleasure in throwing away) and they were great - just a discreet sign. I wouldn't let someone sit alone on holiday without at least asking if they wanted to join our group - hopefully there are others like that  :)

Wy don't you get some more Keith, it's a really good idea, especially if as you say they are discreet. If you feel unsociable you don't have to wear it! I was thinking of something like those little turkish eye on a tiny safety pin that are often given away in shops. All that aside, I agree that everyone will be very welcoming and friendly. It's that kind of place.

SusieQ- why not watch 'Shirley Valentine' before you go - then you can avoid the Jeanette and Dougie from Manchester types !

You should be just fine... I've been out many times on my own especially when we first purchased back in 2003.  People or so friendly...

Have a good holiday !
