We have friends that have just returned from Calis, and they have told us that the price increases are mad this year..

They say they could not find a can of efes in supermarkets for less than 4lira, and the Antitepe wine for 1 litre bottles were 17lira... Is this true ?

Not sure they were shopping in the right shops for the best deals as we do, but am curious to know if things have really increased that much.

Not true supper markets are  dearer than small shops kipa the dearest ,one shop on gunlukbashi road 3.75 efes most small shops are ,3.85 /4.00 tl .efes Xtra  in kipa 5.25  Deera market by the garage gunlukbasi road 4.75 same wine 15 tl 1lt .shop around .

the wine we like was 18ytl in the twins shop in september it is now 26ytl

I have just gone through a lot more money in Hisaronu than previous years.
There were 5 of us though as opposed to our usual 4 but the visits to the ATM were more frequent.
I think food has gone up a bit but we were still getting a good main meal in somewhere like Castello for £6.50 -12 (£12 being a proper fillet steak with sauce etc) the sting is the drinks prices, now my lot are older they were drinking more.
6-7 tl for a beer and 6-7 tl for a large soft drink in most places.
On the flip side we had a great 50th night out for Mrs B with the restaurant throwing in a cake and a bottle of Turkish champers with 3 courses and plenty of drinks for £100 for the 5 of us.

if somebody wants to ask the price of beer wines cigarettes whats the problem?You should be ok to ask anything without getting a sarcastic comment back.

We're needing to go to cash line tomorrow as we've run out of money to change. We brought quite a bit more spends than in previous holidays. It's just disappeared faster this time.

I agree Chariste and Puma. Sarcastic comments put people off and knock confidence. It is a forum.
