Well, no one would get into a car in the U.K. without insurance, so why go abroad and jump off a mountain when there have been fatalities and also injuries, one a couple of weeks ago where the instructor and the passenger where blown into the mountain and had leg injuries.  Remember a medi-vac home can start at £30,000 and go up to over £100,000.

I think the post by Jacqui deserves a bit more credit than has been given, its easy to forget about the insurance.Thanks for the reminder Jacqui

It's also easy to forget how it doesn't have to be something mad like jumping off a mountain that you need to be careful about. Relatively tame holiday favourites like quad bikes for example - such accidents are absolutely exempt from most standard holiday policies. It's generally not what people want to hear as someone picks gravel out of their face with a pair of tweezers.

i've been paragliding 7 times it's great.very scary going up the first time, but the track's much wider now. the paragliding's great.

Exactlly my point Scunner, Hazardous Sports Insurance covers all risky things you will do on Holiday,
however, don't see many people on Quads wearing crash helmets which would negate the insurance.
There was a piece in our local paper last year about a guy who had no holiday insurance at all and was in an accident.  His Mother was trying to raise £35,000 to bring him home.
