The hosts took the lead after just 5 minutes but then kindly equalised for Fethiye with an own goal 10 minutes later.Fethiye remain in 17th place in the league with 13 points.A home game to come next Saturday against mid table Gaziantep, the last before the winter break.KO is 19.oo.

Fethiyespor finished off the first half of their season with a 1-1 draw this evening at home to Gaziantep. On a difficult pitch, following 5 hours of heavy rain there was no score in an even first half. However within 2 minutes of the restart Artun Akcakin put Fethiye in front with a curling shot from the right hand side of the box.Ahmet Aras missed a glorious chance to make it 2-0 on the hour mark before Gaziantep scored 15 minutes from time.Fethiye remain in 17th on 14 points.

Usually its the bottom 3 teams relegated from Lig 1 Ian. As to whether Fethiye can manage to stay up, I think a lot depends on new boss Engin Ipekoglu and if he can keep on getting the results he has been getting since he took over.In his 4 games so far he has managed 2 wins and 2 draws and 8 points. If Fethiye had that return from the whole season they would be 3rd instead of 3rd bottom.
So 3 points from their first match, after the break,at home to 1461 Trabzon on 12th Jan is a must I feel.

Hope so - I notice the club shop opposite finans seems much more plush these days as opposed to the old kiosk - a successful team is good for the town.

Now that Goztepe are playing in Lig 2 this year, supposedly yes Steve.Best to pack your City Hull flak jacket for that game.  ;)
Manager Engin Ipekoglu has been busy in the transfer market this week shipping out 3 players and signing 2 new ones in an attempt to plug the leaky Fethiyespor defence. The team has the joint worst record in their league conceding 36 goals in 18 games. In come Croatian centre half Nikola Zizic from Antalyaspor and another centre half,Ibrahim Surgulu from Sivasspor.Interesting to see if one or both make the team for Sunday afternoons game.

Fethiyespor made it 6 games unbeaten with a 4-0 thumping of 1461 Trabzon this afternoon.Only 90 seconds had gone before Fethiye took the lead.New signing Zizic with a huge punt downfield that bounced over the keeper and into the net. Akcakin made it 2-0 after 14 mins and Kenan Karisik made it 3-0 after half an hour.Ahmet Aras scored the 4th,6 minutes from time.Fethiye move up a place to 16th with that win and are away at Balikesirspor next weekend.
