Wow someone actually wearing a hard hat doing construction work in Turkey that is a sight I don't think I have witnessed before  ;)

Yes Karennina. never gave it a thought at the time, perhaps they will start to  use eye protection when they are welding next,  ;)

I have already witnessed that Des.
I once saw a welder? welding a tv bracket up sporting a pair of Ray Bans. (genuine Fake ones). 8)

An update on the canal progress, the latest info I can get is they say the canal and new roads will be completed by July/ August, but which july /august is anybodys guess. : :)

When we got back we noticed yesterday that things had not improved 'down your end' Des, including, so we hear from friends, a continuing on off saga with telephones and broadband.  Nor has it improved further down river from you, I also noticed that the work had now almost reached the wooden bridge by the WaterTaxi station.

Up stream I would guess 3 or 4 hundred yards on the opposite bank to you
