The people of Calis owe Peter and Chrissie a huge amount of thanks.. They started with a small idea of having a carnival parade.. This has grown to what it is now with the most fantastic committee members...and huge amounts of support from members of this forum and many many more people..

Just back after a long old tiring day, with pretty much wall to wall sunshine.

Many thanks to all the stallholders, who had a fantastic range of goods for sale & to everyone who came & parted with their cash. It took Chrissie, Jan & I longer than ever to cash up at the end, but the good news is that it looks like we will have raised a record amount from this event. Chrissie & I will have a final total probably by the end of tomorrow.

A huge thank you to Erhan & Nalan at the Eyna, who did a soup & BBQ dinner for the whole committee FOC, I for one couldn't have faced coming home to prepare a meal, especially after yesterday's marathon preparation & cooking of 240 sausage rolls, aided & abetted by my lovely friend Maggie.

Over 200 stalls? Wow! And Ronnie said people were travelling into Calis from well outside the area for the fair. Now that's pretty special.

I spoke to people that had come from as far afield as Antalya & Marmaris today, both stallholders & visitors

When we stood watching all the children queuing to see Santa I turned to Pete and asked if he ever wonders if he's created a monster!
I'm just a small cog in the huge wheel of it all, Pet and Chrissie should be very proud. Feel privileged to be part of the committee, great bunch of people.
Hundreds and hundreds of people enjoyed a fab day. Almost everyone's status on Facebook this evening are about how much they enjoyed it.
Were so lucky too to have such talented artists, jewellery makers, cooks and creative people, without them there wouldn't be anything to draw the crowds.
Such a lot of money must have been raised for local children, street animals etching today. Just brilliant.
Thank you Erhan and Naylan at the Eyna for our well earnt delicious meal and toasty fire this evening.
