I miss the 34 percent intrest in the bank and i beleave people who had plenty of cash could get up to 52 percent locked in on a bond each year, your lucky these days to 7 or 8 percent.Gone have the good old days, things have changed over the years and i used to laugh at all the top of range motors a 30year old ford only 3grand to buy.

Most of all I miss the sunsets, no matter how nice they are here in Sussex they are not a patch on good old Caleesh beach!

What do you miss about Calis of old S'cabby, not what do you miss when you are not there    :)

I wonder if the market traders still take pity on those of us who don't want to buy a kilo of cucumbers. As the only cucumber fan in our family, one was more than enough and they would just give it to me    :)

I think the simplicity, poor roads,no street lighting, less commercialism and a feeling that it was small and everyone was friendly and knew each other.if they didn't know you they went out of their way to help.oh and cows, sheep and goats outside your gate

We came on the bus late one evening from Antalya in 2005 and a Turkish man of about 70 started eating an apple on the seat across from us - he caught my eye and rustled in a paper bag on his seat and produced a huge red apple and handed it to me for myself and Gill. No swords - just smiles and nods :D

The driver then turned off the main road on at leat 3 occasions to drop people off in their villages - this was now about 10pm - winter and dark!

Lovely - I think the drivers have targets and timetables now   ;)

That about sums it up, 1st October last plane left Dalaman no bars open at night, maybe 2 open on the prom for a few hours during the day, and walking around the markets hearing nothing but Turkish spoken.  absolute bliss.
And Christmas dinner was sitting in a bar in Fethiye the only 2 dining.
