What Do You Miss When not in Calis/Fethiye?

Oh, I look forward to one of my favourite "traditions" - a Turkish shave in Gunlukbasi, by a man who was about 7 when I first went there

Me to scunner,Gun!ukbasi High street,shave,shop and brunch at seckin watching life go on around us.Wandering around the backstreets of Fethiye finding something new each time.Boatrips with Ali and Elven,cool draught efes at Josephs,a day at the Sundial,a night at Kings Garden,BBQs with our Turkish neighbours.The list goes on,I hate January in the frozen north,can you tell?

I really miss shopping at the market for all that fresh stuff,especially oranges for my juice,tomatoes,yoghurt,butter and cheese. Everything is just so much fresher than I can buy here in the UK, and tastier.

Markets are one of my very fav things, but I hate the t shirts and handbag aisles, give me the fruit and veg any day, and I also love the Serbet man

I miss frothy ayran which I love, the walk from Fethiye back to Calis beach (strangely, not the opposite way), walking to Koca Calis and finding no one near us on the beach. Renting a bike and heading to Majestic Tuana beach, and having a cocktail on the top of  Mendos hotel when the sun is going down.

Toky do you cycle down the main road, or is there a country route. We walked there last year, via Ciftlik, but we ended up on the main road whick wasn't very nice!
