Yes Mac - I guess they will be able to get a water taxi into the marina. It's certainly worth a question and might be something one or two of the bars might want to be asking as well.

Just don't get stuck on one of the many sand bars on the route back to the river mouth at Calis !! Happened to us when the skipper of the water taxi we had hired for a private day trip, refused to use his radio, and missed the warning of a huge storm which caught us on the other side of Sovalye Island. The daft bugger then ran us aground near the bird sanctuary, for about 3 hours, until we were rescued.

Sorry Gordon,just found that sooooooo funny.  ;D ;D ;D ;D

Looking back, it wasn't really funny, at any stage of the event, sadler. About 10 of us rented the boat for the day, wonderful weather, later in the day, all other boats were scurrying for shelter, but the twat who was our captain, had no working radio, a HUGE No-no for boats !! At one time, the coastguard helo was called out, but the winds were even too ferocious for them !! At one point, the Turks in charge of the boat Co-op said we would ; quote; " have to walk on the water " !! after I assured him that I was NOT Jesus Christ, they sent a crowd of men wading out to us , and managed , by brute strength, to free us from the sand bar. Captain got chased for his life, I believe.  This story is archived in the annals of Calis Beach Forum, part of Calis' history !!

Sadler, I will giggle with you   ;)  well I can now. I got all excited when they said they were sending in the helicopters to rescue us, then upset when they couldn't get to us  :(  the boat had older friends, and non swimmers, it was a little worrying.

Sorry Loz, but after years of reading Gordon's posts, and yours, I can only imagine what it would have been like as I have a picture of you both in my mind.  I am sure that I would have been worried in  your situation, but honestly, in retrospect, I can only imagine Gordon encased in a white robe walking on the water towards the light.  Would love to meet you both.  ;D ;D ;D ;D
