My introduction to Turkish food about 25 years ago on a trip to Kusadasi was Iskender kebab. It was the days when you went into the kitchen to point to what you wanted. It was our first trip to Turkey, me and my 2 daughters, and we didn't have a clue, we were served the huge puffed up bread, followed by Iskender kebabs and it was divine, and remains my favourite Turkish dish to this day.
