Barrieband I always go with theory that most places are what we call a one trick ponies.. Most people stick o their favourite meal of choice so are seldom disappointed.... e.g. Steak..

I agree Anne if I wanted a steak I always went to Casa or Bella mama served with frozen chips and a little dish of lettuce cucumber and tomato, but always good steak. But now I will go to Mancero happily pay 7tl more for a 90 day dry aged steak not to sit in a bamboo chair and not a sign of rice salad and chips

We were in 2 nights ago, again  lol, I had the Gorgonzola Veal steak.  They did not have Gorgonzola but they did have Rochefort cheeseinstead.  It was bl**dy lovely.  Will have that one again.  To date we have tried the various steaks and the Butchers Sausages, all have been delicious.  Friends have had the Chicken Salad and they said that was lovely too.

We always give a place a couple of tries before deciding whether its for us or not.  Every person has their own criteria and not all establishments will suit everybody.

We had lunch there again on Wednesday and tried the pizza's for the 1st time.  Thin and crispy, yum yum.  The pepperoni was actual pepperoni not sucuk sausage.

I'd be interested to know if anyone who likes rare steak has been there.  I rarely eat steak in Turkey but the two or three I've had have been really overcooked for my taste.  I ask for rare and get well done.  When it happened in our favourite restaurant I actually sent it back asking again for a rare one.  The next one came out medium.  I'd love to find somewhere that knows how to do a proper rare steak.  Incidentally, most places overcook fish and liver there too...

In general we've had some really excellent meals in Turkey, Shaka having been one of our favourite places.  Looking forward to trying it if it's still there when we next come!   ;D

Wish I liked mine medium then!!    ;)  Sounds like the medium rare one was good though so it sounds promising.  Thanks Firo.
