What a rotten predicament to be in. The roka is penalised because of a situation created by Manzara.  The should /could he pay is debateable but the guy has his principles .We went to the roka recently and it was empty, we have always spent a few evening there in the past and the proprietors, owners or otherwise, are nice people trying to earn a living. Its bloody hard work in the catering/hospitality industry, long hours and little pay/reward. you can have 6 great trading days and 1 bad one to completely balls up your whole week and may you wonder why you bothered. I sincerely hope they recover, best wishes Roka.

I'm not sure it is debatable  :o

He "has his principles" and the LAW on his side. While I have every sympathy for those caught up in this mess I think its disgraceful how this mans business is being targeted and boycotted and the livelihood of his staff threatened over what is essentially a private matter. I sincerely hope that we on this forum who holiday in Çaliş will support him by dining in his restaurant.

Are Manzara still trading?

I was wondering that myself.  Was also wondering what the procedure is for obtaining HC in this scenario (builder/developer ceased trading), especially if the builder has SGK debts etc.  Do the applicants have to settle these, even though they are not directly responsible for them...  Just curious.

John  I think he has covered this?

This is victimisation by Manzara, and to stop construction companies doing this to their customers; big changes were made in the zoning regulations, on the 17th December 2009.

According to 5940 Law.  The citizen who buys property from the builder, even if the builder has tax and insurance premium debts, without paying even 1 kurus, is able to get their Habitation Certificates.  Nevertheless, this regulation is not known generally by either householders or local authorities (Belediye).  Some citizens who know this law, when they apply to the Belediye for their Habitation, the Belediye ask for the severance document.  This  is the document that shows the debt has been paid to SGK (the government debt).   Whereas the construction completion date is 17th December 2009 either before or after. Council Offices are not legally entitled to ask for this severance document.
