Where is the new corner cafe Jacqui ?

It's the Corner Pub - opposite Aydin Pide on Baris Manco - chef is ex Roka and trained in Europe at 5 star hotels before opening his own restaurant in Sweden and then returning to Turkey a few years ago - a very very good chef.

We have been eating off his 10 lira menu for nearly 2 years now so even better value at current rates :-)

Re prices.  We are in the new Corner Cafe and there is a one page menu with any meal for 10 Lira. There is also a large menu and the most expensive thing is steak for 32 Lira.
Phil just had a 10 Lira Chilli con carne and he said it was lovely.  I had a whole breast of chicken with mushroom sauce for 14 lira...
I can throughly recommend this place.

And I can have a tapa and a beer or glass of wine for €1.50 - and both the beer and the wine are of far superior quality to local Turkish beverages, even the stuff "on offer" at €1.50.

Jacqui, do you mean opposite PJ's? I'm really rubbish with geography around Calis, wouldn't mind giving this place a try,  the bike shop will be handy too!!!!

My daughter has been trying to find an all inclusive holiday any where in Europe for two weeks in August.  Everywhere is full....the only availability is showing in Turkey - hundreds left to choose from - but having been several times a year since a young age, she is searching for something different.  Looks like the rest of Europe is doing very well - while Turkey struggles to fill the facilities that they have got.  In the 12 years that we have been coming to turkey we have seen substantial change, and I have to say, not always for the better.  It is no longer a 'reasonably priced' holiday - and when the price tag competes with some of the other places, the quality of accommodation and the food doesn't always match up unfortunately.

I've always felt visitors fall into two groups - those that don't like Turkey & those who come for the first time & come back again and again. 

In Fethiye/Calis there are also a lot of holiday home owners & the price of flight only has gone up hugely - we always used to go over for the May half term but it's just too much money for a week.

Turkey was traditionally a cheap destination, unfortunately that doesn't apply anymore. All inclusive are now in competition with local bars and restaurants, therefore the owners of these establishments increase their prices. To expensive and poor quality now, in comparison with cheaper closer and visa less destinations.

Our hotel was like a private villa over half term it was so empty! But busied up as soon as the half term was over funnily enough

We returned from Calis on Monday, having spent a week at our apartment. We did notice that it was very quiet, not too many people  on the prom during the evenings. We ate out every evening, Meetin Point, Sini Locantasi, Dawn Beach, Bella Mammas, Aromour and Nil Bar. Have to say didn't think it was that expensive considering the exchange rate of 3.51. Just our thoughts.  Back in August for more.
