Standing at the seafront facing the sea the Sat is to the left at the very end of the beach.

Didn't particularly want the restaurant just wanted to go to the island

Best bet then is to get the water taxi from Fethiye. It goes from just behind the Belidiye tea house, where the big bus stops are. They did use to display the timetable on a blackboard on the quayside. Have to say, I went over a good number of years ago, but wasn't hugely impressed  :(

Apparently, there are snakes on the island, one reason I would not like to be exploring.
The restaurant is the best bet, as you will get hungry and thirsty and you can relax on their beach during the day.
The evening is lovely as going across on the boat is so good.  The food and the views are perfect.

Yes, there are snakes in Turkey.  However, snakes on an island means no escape for them (unless they are water snakes).  So by the law of averages  I would think there would be a heck of a lot more snakes over there.
Let us know how you get on when you explore Kevin.   ;D  ;)

So would anyone recommend the trip to the island, we will be over in early June and fancied a day somewhere different but don't want to waste a day that is not worth it.

We spent 2 separate days on Sovalye last time we were over and used the Ada as a base.

The food is reasonably priced and the drinks are a bit pricey, however the boat over has to be paid for somehow.

It is quite fascinating having a wander around the island and the view of Fethiye on a clear day is stunning.

Lastly we didn't see any snakes.
