Why do they all want to come to the U.K.??  They are in France but don't want to be there, this is why the French Police are not interfering with these people trying to get on lorries.
IMHO it is a French problem.  I see the Mayor of Calais saying it was a British problem and laughing at David Cameron for only offering twelve million to help the French.

I see it as our problem. They don't want to stay in France because they don't get welcomed with open arms by the benefits agency.
We should send them all back.

Evidently its only a small proportion who want to come th the UK. The press are over stating it.

Just what I heard on Radio Leeds today from an 'expert'.

What destination on the planet are the rest congregating in the Port of Calais hoping to reach then?

The people landing in Italy appear to be well clothed, well nourished, many have mobile phones, they've

paid hundreds or thousands of pounds for the boat trip and they want to get into Europe illegally.

They should be towed in their boats back to their starting point, given a couple of days food and water

rations and then the boats sunk. That way everyone will get the message.

The thugs in Calais are wrecking lorries, forcing motorists to let them into cars and many of those detained in the

last couple of days were armed with knives. Do you want to keep them.? Do you want them living next door.?

I don't.   France should kick them back out the way they came in, not drive them over to us.

Britain could stop this overnight by declaring that  immigrants will receive no benefits or housing.
Our borders should be enforced and anyone entering illegally should be removed.

I see it as our problem. They don't want to stay in France because they don't get welcomed with open arms by the benefits agency.
We should send them all back.

Firstly, we need to catch them first to send them anywhere. Secondly, where is "back" ? do you mean France? Not much point sending them there, or do you mean their country of origin, so we then pay their airfares back to, say, Africa, but this is not the  immediate method we us, because when they are caught they are sent to holding centres in the U.K. where it may take years to process them.  They will say they cannot go because of political situations in their countries.  So they will claim asylum, this means they will probably be allowed to stay in the U.K.
I also think it very unfair the way the lorry drivers are fined heavily if they are caught with these people in their lorries.   The lorry drivers are receving no help from the French authorities who are standing back and watching as these migrants are breaking into lorries in broad daylight and also threatening drivers with knives.
The French just want rid of these people and are happy to see them jumping on lorries and getting away from France.
If people want to travel thousands of miles to eventually come to Britain illegally, why is this our problem?

This may sound a silly question ( which it probably is) but if they've travelled all those miles and survived in rough seas, why do they jump off in Calais. Why don't they just carry on across the channel and cut out the middle man? ???
