Can't believe I have just booked flights for my son and his girlfriend from Birmingham on 15 July for £49 each and return on 23 July for £29 each. Thomas Cook and yes, in 2 weeks time! Must be lots of spare seats!

I can believe it you are in England.  We just booked for September flying from Aberdeen for £758.00 when we booked there were 4 seats left.

Just had my neighbour round as we were watching the TV news about Tunisia... She said " it must be such a relief for you to be away from Turkey" It is a very dangerous place... Unfortunately a lot of people agree with her.... We are coming over for a month in September..she thinks we are crackers. Lol.

Yes! Anywhere can be dangerous these days and it needn't be a so called Muslim country!  In our opinion Turkey is as safe if not safer from external dangers than lots of destinations!
It's  perception and power of the press that makes it difficult for hotel and business owners here in Turkish resorts.
Last year we had just finished a trip to the East, places there were just starting to attract tourists from Turkey, border countries and the general western world. Given the opportunity would we go again  now?  YES! we would!
Now elections are maybe finished, I said maybe ! We would be happy in Diyarbakir Mardin Antep Urfa!  And others!  We have friends in Nusaybin  a city divided half in Turkey, half in Syria  no we wouldn't want to live there, would we visit again now? Yes! We would.
The big problem there is refugees in close to border towns..
Yes! We would visit now and take all the same precautions as last time!

ISIS is not the problem in Turkey but the ongoing Kurdish issues are!!

It's a wicked world sometimes but Turkey can be as safe as anywhere to enjoy your holiday!
We will continue to invite family and friends !!!

Iam at a loss as to why many people,my friends included, link the Tunisian attack to "I bet you are glad you are not in Turkey at present"Why not Spain,Egypt,Greece,Italy,London,Newcastle,Edinburg,Cardiff etc
I think it shows a lack of understanding that in this day and age a lot of terrorism is hidden and can strike anywhere at any time hence UK being on severe alert status at present and has been for some time

Hotel bookings will be down if people believe the gormless pillock who was on ITV last night saying how he had cancelled his holiday to Turkey for the protection of his family. The family were fame hungry and put on the sad eyes about how they could not risk it and they had been going to Turkey for years.
It just goes to show how much they must know about the place. >:(
