« on: July 03, 2015, 11:13:09 AM »
Just a quick reminder that " Rod Stewart" will be performing at Lees Bar tonight on Calis promenade to raise money for the 3Cs. This will be Rod's last performance before going back to the UK. If you have not seen him yet you dont know what you have been missing. He is great!!!!

Well it certainly was the night, we had a fantastic two and a half hours of pure entertainment, unashamedly I knew and sang all the words with Jan and had a ball with everyone that were there, everyone was dancing and the place was packed, I hope everyone gave generously because you would have paid good money to see this, Rod had the stage in his hand which seemed to be the bar the prom and the bar next door , posing for pictures, he worked it brilliantly, he's got a big voice and an even bigger heart.

Brilliant, Brilliant , Brilliant night!   It had to be the best yet and many people said it was the best night ever that they had ever had on Calis Prom.  Rod sang his socks off - just don't know where he gets all his energy from and the prom was blocked with people dancing! Our raffle made 1100 TL and the collecting bucket is heavy and has loads of folding money so will let you know what the total is after it is counted on Monday.

A huge, huge thanks to Rod and his wife Linda, whose birthday it was last night and a huge huge thanks also to Lee and Miska for being the perfect hosts and also the hard working bar staff.

At the start of the evening 3C's Chairman Peter presented Rod and Lee with framed certificates of thanks and Linda and Miska received bouquets of flowers (pictures to follow).

Rod's wish is that his three performances may have raised enough to fund a hearing implant for a deaf youngster - I think we can certainly say that he has achieved this.  Thank you Rod and Linda, safe journey home and see you later in the year.
