Goodbye Lance - Farewell to a CBF Legend and my Friend
« on: July 20, 2015, 20:24:31 PM »
I am literally wiping a tear here as I know I will be breaking news to many of the death of Lance Gilby - simply lance on CBF. It was confirmed today that he suffered a heart attack yesterday and died.

I met Lance as far back as I can remember - he was buying a place and we became friends. He was a 'take me or leave me character' - not everyone loved him but most did. Very uncomplicated and the first to moan if things weren't exactly as he had expected (maybe that's why we got on!).

Lance played the village idiot on CBF - in fairness all computer/internet matters generally baffled him and he ended most posts with his trademark "duh". But in 'real life' he was no fool by any means, and one of those people you loved to see when out in Calis - a wonderful character.

RIP Lance - you WILL be missed mate.

What very sad news Keith, I never had the pleasure of meeting Lance but enjoyed his posts immensely on here over the years, I remember when there was a section called Lances diaries and they always gave me such a laugh..
Sincere Condolences to Lances family, RIP Lance...

What very sad news. Only met lance the once but he send my "funny" emails on a regular basis. The latest one just four days ago.

Deepest condolences to his family and friends.

The forum and Calis will not be the same without him.

This is how I will remember him - on a giant TV screen in Fethiye. Another joke at Lance's expense and he never once got annoyed with me :D
