Surely we can all agree that whilst it is impractical to have airport style security at all railway stations, bus stations, bus stops etc. It surely would be a good idea that airports, seaports and International Railway stations in the UK at least have x-ray and metal detectors at the entrances to these places, and also as in Dalaman before you clear immigration.

I do fail to see why anyone should think that is a bad idea. No doubt the airport companies would squeal about lost revenue from the rents that they charge the owners of any shops that are not airside, that must be a price worth paying. Especially as Gatwick and Heathrow at the moment seem to have a bottomless pit of money to slag each other off, about where the new runway should go.

Sky news did look at option of scanners at the entrance but stated it would create an easy target outside with people queuing, they did not consider investing in multiple scanners and resource to meet demand!

Stop selling them weapons?

They were nail bombs. Do we stop selling nails at B&Q?

stoop - I don't have the answer.

But putting airport security at every railway station entrance, every bus station entrance and every ferry terminal entrance is surely not practical.

It's rather more practical than being blow up I guess?

Don't be silly. Without guns and other weapons there would be no ISIL

The Turkish President has just announced that one of the Brussels bombers was deported back to Brussels from Turkey last year.

Belgium's Intelligence and other services appear to be an utter shambles, and Cameron is trying to tell us we will be safer in the EU.!!

I think ISIL are progressing to the point where they will not need conventional weapons. They have developed driver less cars as one

example, which could be loaded with explosives. Even suicide bombers could become redundant.

Totally agree.

These guys took their bombs in a taxi and we can assume at some stage (probably in the airport car park or somewhere else where they could hide) they attached their detonators before walking into the airport check-in area.

So let's make it harder for them. Let's have multiple entrances at airports where scanners can be placed - to keep queues down. Let's have more security cameras covering car parks and other areas.

Let's do everything we can ..... or nothing and pray we are not in the wrong place at the wrong time.

But it's not me not being silly - I am talking about nail bombs and chemicals that can be bought anywhere.

Guns are a completely different topic which I agree should not be sold to anyone except the military and those who need them for their work (such as farmers, etc).

A US friend of mine posted on FB yesterday that 37 people are killed by guns in the USA  - EVERY DAY!
