Fethiye To Rhodes Ferry
« on: August 02, 2016, 13:02:52 PM »
We are off for a couple of days in in Rhodes this weekend on the ferry. Does anyone have any good/bad experiences with places in Rhodes they'd care to share (predominantly bars and restaurants although not exclusively of course!).

I have only been on day trips of late, but enjoy having a mooch around Rhodes old town & picking a restaurant in there, none in particular, but if I see them serving a decent pork souvlaki, I'm in   ;)

We have been a few times and also stayed over at the fabulous Nikos and Takis Boutique Hotel in the old town. A great restaurant is Rustico's which is at the top of the hill on the left in the old town.  Food is so good and the atmosphere is wonderful.  We got a free drink after lunch on our first visit, then a another free drink and a dessert after dinner and when we left we got two bottles and wine.  They also gave us a discount voucher for their shop, which is opposite.   I have recommended this place to people in Calis and they have always told me how much they enjoyed it.      https://www.facebook.com/RusticoRhodes/

Sixty Euros for the day trip last year, so much have gone up.   It costs a little more if you are staying over.  Well worth staying over, we hired a car on our last visit and saw the Island.  Lindos is beautiful.  However, after just returning from Greece, it is no cheap.

Just took a look online as was surprised at the increased price.
It is still showing up as 60 Euros return.

No ferry, as such, running this year. Two hydrofoils running, the same one as last year, run by Tuanamaritime, the name of the new company run by the previous owner of Yesil Dalyan, and the other hydrofoil called Aegean a Prince, run by Ocean yachting and tour agency. One way tickets cost 50€, same day return is 60€, different day return is 75€.
The ferry, which was in service last year, has been moored in the marina, opposite Alesta hotel for all season. No idea who owns it, if it is broken or if it has been impounded.
