Jeep Safari
« on: August 04, 2016, 08:13:08 AM »
Apologies if this has been discussed previously but what, in everyone's opinion, is the best tour operator for the fun safaris where everyone gets drenched? 3 of us went on one last year which was ok but not as much of a laugh as other jeeps who crossed our path. I'm fully up to speed on the "add on's" for footware, photos etc it's just asking where are we going to have the best laughs

The Karacay Jeeps are suppose to be the best as they are proper jeeps and have seat belts so from the safety point of view they are usually the ones recommended.
However, unless you take out Hazardous Sports Insurance before you leave the U.K you have no cover in the event of an accident and will pay all your own expenses including flights home.

Thanks Jaqui.  I think I read your previous post on insurance.  What if I wore my works hi-viz jacket??? :-)

Regarding insurance when travelling on Jeep safari's, I think Jacqui is right here too many companies don't have it and just hope all goes well with no accidents. But as we all know accidents do happen and you will get no help from your UK insurance if anything goes wrong. My personal opinion is that I wouldn't go on a Jeep safari

Yes, and no  families devastated by the death of a family member on holiday either.

O.K. Barry, Read this and look at the image of the father and daughter who died. Apparently with all the water being thrown around the driver got water in his eyes.

If that is not enough here are two more.

Just in case you did not know.  A med-vac home starts at £29,000.   I wonder would you even get into a car in the U.K knowing you are not insured?  I bet not, but you would happily jump in a jeep and with a water pistol to stand up and squirt at other jeeps.

As much as I hate to say this I would ask to see their insurance for passenger liability. we have heard too many horror stories on this forum regarding Jeep safaris, so if it makes one family take note and look to another trip all is not in vain.
