Trump's lack of political experience isn't of any great concern to me. He's surrounded by a wealth of that - even though many don't like him.

He is however, a businessman. One who supported Brexit. One who can find Britain on a map.

He's a practical thinker who has mentioned the possibility of putting tariffs on Chinese goods - not that it will directly affect Britain.

For Britain/US trade he must surely be a better bet than Obama or Clinton.

Whatever he does inside the USA, I'd rather deal with him than be ignored completely.

I have no idea who or what a Cletus is but please call people by their name/username Villain.

Oh, and although I haven't been following this topic, I think he is weary of you and has chosen not to answer the questions.

...and he's has also applied for bankruptcy four times and been involved with around 3500 ("three THOUSAND, five hundred" ;) law suits.

Nothing amiss?

And just about the only person in known history to LOSE money running a casino.

Even I admit, that takes a special class of financial "genius"

I personally am glad Trump had built a Golf Course and is employing Scottish people.

Oh really - he destroyed a beautiful part of where I was brought up :(

Cletus was the name of the slack - jawed yokel in South Park.

Louisiana swampland, Cajun type - unschooled, uneducated, (like the fiddle player in "Deliverance)".

It's also become a school playground nickname for someone with learning difficulties.

Such witty repartee, Villain. How clever and superior you must feel.

As for Trump -

bankruptcy applications, business losses, myriad law suits - he's certainly had his share of financial ups and downs....

...and he has amassed a reported 9 billion plus dollars from which he paid his own way.

I certainly don't think he's a "natural" president but he's a survivor and a winner.

The decision's been made.

He has his chance to make a difference.

Disappointing to read playground style name calling in a supposed political discussion here then.

That's a lovely attempt to smear me, but as a parent of two school age children, including a 9-year old with significant learning difficulties, I assure you the reference was to the Simpsons caricature only.

My other child is 14, and I have never heard that term from her either.

In fact. I can't find a trace of it being used in the manner Stuart T is suggesting.

I didn't start the patronising pet names thing, either.

In calling you "sunshine" he got it memorably wrong!
