I took the plunge & joined Slimming World after reading all the reports on here. I have lost 5 1/2lbs in 2 weeks so am pretty pleased. I think that having to pay to get weighed makes me keep to it, after all it would be just like throwing money down the drain if i didn't lose weight. I hope i still continue to do ok as i will be in Calis in a couple more weeks & don't want to be back at square one when i get back to the UK

I lost another pound at Slimming World this week, despite eating some of my middle daughter's 18th birthday cake, and sharing some celebratory drinks!  12.5 lbs off now (plus another 4 lbs I lost before joining) so well pleased.   :)

We'll be in Calis this time next week, so I'll need to be a bit careful cos I don't want to put it all back on again!  :D

Hopefully, I'll get my stone sticker from SW before we go!   ;)

Julie I'm sure you will do it! It's so easy to be tempted when there is naughty food availabe, eg: buffets! X

JulieK if you go onto SW website they give quite alot of information for free, so that will help get you started, they explain the Extra Easy was of dieting, (so instead of Red or Green days, you can have both) but you limit you Healthy Extra A & B's to just 1 each and not 2, this way you can have your meats, spuds, pasta combined. Take a look and let me know if you need any info. Christine well done on your 5.5lb loss thats brilliant in 2 weeks! hope it keeps coming off, good luck xx

I must confess I have not read all the 15 pages of this but I thought I would include our latest effort to tone up and lose a few pounds anyway. Sorry if someone has already done this.

A few weeks back we hired a vibration plate for £15 per week. We used it for 10 minutes per day (with one day a week off) for the whole 4 weeks and the results were so encouraging that we splashed out the £150 to buy our own plate last week. Maggie had measured her hips/legs etc and after 4 weeks she had lost a few inches as well as a feeling (and looking) more toned. 'Does my bum look big in this?' might not need asking this summer if things keep up.

Personally I have gone down from 12st 4lbs to 11st 11lbs (I have not altered my eating habits). The only thing extra I have done in the last 2 weeks is 100 sit ups every day.

We went for the Crazy Fit plate in the end and I found an on line company offering one for £149.99 icl delivery. It took me about 45 mins to put together and it seems to be just as good as the one we hired (which wasn't a commercial plate anyway). Time will tell but I must say I do feel much more toned and will continue to spend my 10 mins a day on it until I reach my target weight. After that I will probably just use it for toning rather than weight loss.

Anyone else got one?

Well done Stoop and Mrs Stoop thats brilliant. The Power Plates are fantastic I think, i use one twice a week for 30 minutes a session, you can book them in a gym near were I work in the city, you have a personal trainer and they stay with you and tell you what exercise to do for the 30 minutes, its so so hard! The first time I used the PP and did the exercise, i was in so much pain for 7 days afterwards as it works the muscles 45 times harder (depending on the speed limit you have it on) the PP I use is the big £3k machine, but I also use a vibro plate in a local sunbed shop which is for 10 minutes a session at £3, and thats still good. Love it! Tribalelder, thats the problem I found with the dinner plate ;-)
