Fethiye is the bigger town so maybe a better idea than Hisaronou - please send your ideas via Nichola's profile, then it can be co-ordinated!  If everybody lets her know how many people want to turn up she will be able to find a meeting place!!
Even if you can't turn up let her know your ideas PLEASE!!!

Whilst I agree fully with the protest and applaud the efforts people are making, I do have worries about involving the British media? Turkey is just getting ahead with it's reputation as a good tourist destination and I would hate to think that people re-associate Turkey with the bear baiting days and stop coming? I think with the tour companies pulling their support and the council having all but capitulated, the concept is dead duck (no pun intended) and only a fool would now invest in the idea? I don't think you need the UK Media!

There will NOT be a meeting in the Kismet Bar on Tuesday.

It won't take a genius to work out why not.

Apologies in advance for posting this on more than one topic but I want to make sure everyone gets this info.

Let me guess, something that starts along the lines of "Things can become difficult for people trying to run a business in Turkey..." Am I close? Is there a prize?

Pathetic. Thank God the final decision on this will be taken by someone a hell of a lot higher than the local muppets. I think they've watched too many Pacino movies.

this is the fone number for the Whale and Dolphin Conservation Society 0044 1249 449 500 or their press office is 0044 1249 449 534
Fone calls often make a difference to how an issue is dealt with, so please if you can give them a call. Should several people call them, I am sure they will take notice.
Also I have written a brief note to HRH Prince Charles Buck Palace. I know it sounds crazy BUT he was very influential stopping the development of Dalyan for the benefit of the Turtles, he does have his mail read, and he knows who to contact in power. Again, with several letters I am sure someone will notice.
please keep up the pressure, the season is only a few weeks away!

my friends and I will be at the mayors walkabout in Hisaronu TODAY Sunday wearing black, it is very important I think, not to upset anyone and undo the great work that has been done, It is time to step out of the virtual world though, hope to meet others also concerned, We wil at least be able to recognise one another
