Please don't shoot me down for this post because I do have a lot of sympathy for all of you who have lost flights.  But please spare a thought for the people who have lost their jobs if Kibris HAVE gone bust (or are taken over)
Having been in the position of working for an airline that went bust (anyone remember Court Line?) and being phoned at 10:00pm in the evening to be told not to turn up for work in the morning is pretty hard.
Appreciate that you've all lost flights/holidays/money but, as Brian says, you should get that back from the credit card companies.
Shouting at the girls in the office, who will probably know less than you, is a bit unkind IMO.

I understand what you're saying peecee.  It really isn't the office staff's fault, but, the trouble is, there is no reply when we try to ring kthy, and the credit card companies are not prepared to cough up because the company hasn't actually gone bust.  If they went into administration, it would be easier for all of us (including their staff, who would then be able to move on - it appears that they haven't been paid for months) as we could then claim our money back.

A lot of us work all year and struggle to pay for a nice summer holiday.  It's pretty annoying to throw hundreds of pounds away on something that you don't actually then receive.  My summer holiday is the highlight of the year - I work in a school, but as support staff, so receive no pay for the 13 weeks a year "holiday" we are forced to take (not that I'm complaining - I love the time off; it fits in with my busy family life, and it's been my choice to work there!).  It's pretty annoying though to suddenly lose the holiday that we have struggled to pay for.

Like most other people, I have a massive mortgage - I now have a massive credit card bill too!!

I also feel sorry for the staff who are left in the office to face the public - it's really not fair on them.  The trouble is - we want some answers, and these poor people have been left to hold the fort.  (By the way, if there are people still working in their office, they must be getting paid - you wouldn't carry on going into work for nothing!)   They may be able to answer some of our questions, and for those of us who have lost money, it would be nice to know where we go from here.

The lack of communication is causing the hassle. If people knew exactly what was happening there wouldnt be the anger that the staff are facing. No its not their fault but unfortunately theyre the only accessible face of the company. having worked in various service industries over the years I know too well of the horrible people that phone up or worse still show up- its usually through a mis-communication that theyre at fever pitch! Its the poor service personnel who are left to deal with it! If KTHY or Atlas were to issue something formal advising passengers of what is happening now and likely to happen then people can make an informed decision as to their next move. Its the not knowing thats frustrating! and btw I wouldnt shout at anyone- even if I was on fire!

I agree with jules.... and yes i am not going in there gun blazing so to speak but im am sick to death of the lack of communication on behalf of kthy with us! hundreds of people have been stranded in the uk and Turkey and have had to re book with other companies using their own funds as nothing was offered by kthy apart from a grunt!

We have all saved to go out on our holidays and have been basically left in the lurch!:( as for the staff yes again im going with Jules on this one they are still working and still bloody selling tickets to any one who is prepaared to buy one! :o[:(!] instead of selling tickets to people who are unaware of the situation they should be communicating the situation instead of cheating people!

So will i be going with an open mind ..... of course i wont be.... they have ripped people off it is as simple as that in my book if they were not selling tickets id have a bit more sympathy for them but becuase of this i DONT.

I hope i have some joy with them and will keep you all posted :D

As far as I am aware, Atlas jet has still not signed a formal agreement to take this company over. The other problem is, Atlas has never flown into Dalaman. They are operating flights from Ercan in N Cyprus to the uk, but via Antalya mostly, and I think the number of flights operating are less per week than CTA did. I do not think it is true to say that people are stranded in Turkey, but certainly people who have booked flights direct with CTA for july, august, sept will be having a worrying time. I really do not see them getting money back. Working for a tour operator who used CTA, we have no more info than anyone here, but have purchased new seats on other airlines to enable our clients to return from Turkey to the UK. This is, of course, at our expense.

\This has been posted on atlasjet website.
I read this as you have to take your tickets to a Atlasjet office to get a replacement ticket.
I'd quite happily pop into a Atlasjet office if I live in bloody Cyprus or Turkey.
This is obsurd, I can't afford a alternative flight for 2 adults & 4 Kids so looks like not only am I going to lose £1800 for the flights but £500 for the apartment.:(:(:(

Regulation of ACCEPTANCE OF KTHY PASSENGER on Atlasjet flights operating since July 5th, 2010;Turkey or Cyprus departed passengers whom tickets were purchased from KTHY website, call center or ticket sales offices will be accepted on Atlasjet flights only in case of Atlasjet tickets will be issued to them. For issuing an Atlasjet ticket it is required to apply following:1.  The New Atlasjet tickets will be authorized for issuing without any penalty or extra charges only if passengers will visit a nearest Atlasjet agency located in Turkey or Cyprus and present the KTHY tickets. New Atlasjet tickets will be provided by Atlasjet agency instead of passengers' KTHY tickets.
2.  The KTHY tickets will be stored by Atlasjet agency.
This application is valid for Atlasjet flights operating since 05th July 2010

Don't know if this is of any help - Atlasjet sales no is 0090 212 6632000 - perhaps it would be worth giving them a call and asking where in UK the tickets can be exchanged?

there should be a kthy flight going from manchester to dalaman today at 11.45 ( we have tickets for this flight) but there is no sign of it on the airport website and i cant see any atlasjet flights on the airport site , so surely if this flight doesnt happen we are entitiled to our money back from the credit card company , is this correct ? thanks
