G&C sorry to hear the news about your friends, as alan said the HBC will sort out temp passports they will issue these 72 hours before they are due back please note they can only be used them once.............its a get u home service, for hotel accom try angel at the nilbar I am sure she can sort out something, if we were out we would have popped round to help, but we are here in the uk, like you, and being so far away it makes you feel useless, this sort of thing leave a nasty taste in the mouth not just losing things but going thru all your personal things as well, our friends had to done to them last christmas and are still trying to sort things out with the insurance so expect delay when you get back.

Thanks everyone, Bill and Jen are back in the house, the locks have been changed and they have nothing left worth stealing. The police chief told them stories of safes that are bolted to walls and floor being stolen! He said the best thing to do is not use the safe and find a really unusual hiding place within the house, the thieves are in and out in such quick order, they don't have time to see whether you had left your money in the mop bucket.

Sad thing is that Bill and Jen are there with their two lads, the oldest is 19 and they were thinking that this is the last ever family holiday they will have together, I feel so bad that this event will forever overshadow their last family holiday.

I was really depressed last night and thinking either selling up or how to make the house like fort Knox, but what's the point? If I make the doors impregnable, they will rip off the window guards and get in that way, if I brick up the windows they can come in through the roof! So sod them, it's still our place in the sun and we are not going to let the scum ruin it for us.

Bill and Jen are having a BBQ tonight, passports sorted tomorrow and then hopefully a bit of a holiday before coming home on Friday.

Thanks all for you help and support

If they dont feel they want to stay in the house, we have two clean spare bedrooms and our own pool and they are more than welcome to stay with us till they go home.

Barbara, you have made Chris and I feel so humble, we don't even know you and you are making us such a lovely offer. Thank You.

Bill & Jen seem OK at the moment, as long as they can sort out their passports before Friday, they will be fine. If they have a problem after that I may be getting back in touch.

Once again, thank you for such a fantastic offer.

George

Been away this weekend and just seen this. Absolute ba&tards!

I don't know what the answer is as to why this seems to happen so often to people who have just arrived on holiday (and I guess it's not just Turkey either). Obviously they expect rich pickings as they hope to find lots of cash plus all the other goodies that they can sell on fast. Maybe they follow you home or maybe it's a dodgy taxi driver but someone has a way of doing this.

Makes me wonder about our safe now. Ours is bolted to the floor and we usually keep all our important stuff in there. Maybe we need to re-think and stash it elsewhere.

I hope they have a better end to their holiday and get back to the UK OK.
