FiG provided these schoolchildren with shoes, books and clothes many years back, when they, Fig, first set up. I will try to obtain photos and post here. You will see that they do need ongoing help.

The problem with some of the village schools is that the parents are not interested in helping either, most just want there children to finish school and help in the fields or house. This is why these schools become rundown. Good luck to the project I wish every success xx

Hubby is driving over by car again in August, I am taking the easy route and flying!  Will ask the two local schools to once again donate unwanted school uniform and unused exercise books pens and pencils.

Those children will have moved on by now Julie. It was as you said a long time ago that Fig helped out. It is the conditions they are learning in that is the biggest problem. We are trying to provide more than shoes and books this time. We the same as FIG provide other schools with much needed items but this school needs more than a quick fix now. The parents of most of these kids arent in a position to help. They can hardly keep themselves. This will be a long term project and we thank you for your support. Even if they do finish up in the fields their young lives will have been enhanced by our help which is why we do it when all said and done. There are loads of up to date photos of the present day children on the "Bozalan" project. Keith has long wanted a major project with one of the charities and this is the one he feels that is in most need and we thank him sincerely. Thanks for your help the other day by the way. xx

Another thought. We have helped numerous schools and good causes over the years and of course the longer we go on it will become necessary to revisit some places. Books, toys, shoes, clothes. uniforms computers.etc..nothing lasts forever. We are eternally grateful for the people on this forum and the people of who live here for their continued support.

I think also you need to put opportunity in front of kids today - of course if they attend dreary lessons in drab and damp surroundings with little exposure to books, computers or anything else that can inspire then they will end up in the fields because nothing as an exciting alternative has presented itself, and school is nothing more than necessary and boring.

You only have to find the spark. As Billy Connolly once explained, (something like) the greatest yachtsman the World has ever seen could be growing up in the tenements, but as he'll never even get the chance to even set foot on a yacht, he and the rest of us will never know and he'll do his 40 years in the shipyard like everyone else.

No yachts on the list but plenty to make school a lot more inspiring and comfortable.
