My guess is they'll start off with what they think will draw in the crowds.

Starting with happy hours!

Followed by massive TV screens blaring out the x factor/football with rows of people sitting stiffly in hard chairs staring at a screen for most of the night.

And for later it'll be wet t shirt competitions and foam parties and semi naked young men dancing on the bar.  ;D

well thats enough of your fantasies Nichola!  I cant understand why everyone is being so negative about a bit of life being brought into Calis, it's not compusory to go there, the tourists will be bored to tears with whats on offer at the moment

I think having a family fun pub is a marvellous idea. Somewhere for mum and dad to take their little darlings. While I can go somewhere else! Bring on Charlie Chalk and Brewster Bear!

Philrose - why do you equate families with a Fun pub? My experience tells me it will probably be the last place you would take your kids.

I think Nichola's description will be fairly accurate.

So, if us tourists are bored to tears, just what is going to make us happy?
I would think that a show/entertainment would probably be a good thing, so a place where you can have a meal a few drinks and be entertained would probably fit the bill.  A fun pub???  So, we can go for a drink, but where does 'Fun" come into it??

I still don't get why people think this is going to be for kids? Have I missed something? The sign says coming soon, restaurant and fun pub, it doesn't have the word family or kids in it.
Has someone spoken to the new owners, is that where its come from?

I personally think Andy is right all the way - I/we are quite happy to be "bored to tears" and maybe that is why we liked Calis so much when we holidayed there. I can think of nothing worse than being entertained - most holiday entertainment is amateur rubbish, or mimed nonsense or too loud for those of us who like to talk.

But everyone is not like me and while an evening at the Talk of the Town in Hisaronu would be my idea of holiday hell, I know loads of people who absolutely love it and count it as a major component of their holiday.

The real point is that if you provide everything, people can choose. If they choose to stay in Calis and not to got Hisaronu or Fethiye that will help Calis. The prom hasn't changed in any notable way in regard to restaurant offering since Bella Mammas opened and that, ladies and gentlemen was ten years ago next year.

People are heading from Calis to Fethiye in droves (and dolmuses) every night and spending their Turkish liras over there - that I know as a fact, because I am one of them!

Do you still have to go to Fethiye to get Turkish food?
