That's what upsets me the most Colin - why the huge difference.

Very briefly - cookies are used by websites to remember you - nothing bad there - cookies are (sometimes) used by holiday and flight companies to remember you and price accordingly. For example - if you search for flights, you are interested in booking flights. If you come back in two days time, you were (and are) definitely interested in booking those flights and the website would add a tenner each way or more to the initial prices quoted - that's £80 for a family of 4.

Deleting cookies takes 30 seconds, and can - really can - save you £80. Or more. Not a bad way to spend 30 seconds.

Aw John, sorry. Really couldn't believe our luck either but they were changing daily and a couple of times a day at that! The next day they were up to £247 again. I am a lucky person though in life and never take that for granted.

But how flexible are you H? If you want to go on specific dates from Aberdeen then it isn't going to be cheap in all probability.

We have flown from Manchester several times because flights are as much as £600 cheaper for the four of us. If anyone wants to give me £600 to drive to Manchester and back I'm all for it.

Also, have you looked at package deals, similar to the one Colin posted? They can be amazingly cheaper. If it was me, rather than pay £990 for two flights from Aberdeen, I'd drive to Bournemouth - save nearly £600 and that's not including the accommodation yet?! If your accommodation would be (say) £300 - and the journey 13 hours, you are earning £69.23 an hour for driving yourselves
