Are they having the drummers again this year?  They didn't have drummers last year in Fethiye.

Yes, ahem "while we are in Turkey", presumably on Holiday, but trust me, when you live near a mosque the novelty wears off!  :)

We had Ramadhan drummers in Deliktas last year, the year before (2011) they were cancelled due to a high number of complaints from Turkish nationals and ex pats. Hopefully we will have them again this year.

We have a mosque in the next street to us and I love listening to the call to prayer. :D

We live between two large mosques and I don't consciously hear the call for prayer. Not once have I woken up.
It's something you get used to after living in Turkey for a long time.

Ah but what you don't say Dutchie is how far from the two 'large' mosques you are.  Is it measured in metres or kilometeres,? Distance as well as  power of mosque sound system makes a difference.  Also people are pointing out that if you move into an area and there is a mosque well you have to put up with it, or go to somewhere where there isn't one, but when the decision is made to put one near - or for some people literally next door to them - then perhaps they are right to feel a disgruntled about the plan.
