If I were on the Gunlukbasi dolmus I would change at the otogar rather than traipsing into town.
(although there is always a chance that the Olu dolmus might be full at that point !)

That's right Kevin and with two young children I wouldn't take the risk in the heat.  Better I think to go right into town and hopefully get seats on the dolmus!

Whilst a taxi is by far the quickest and most hassle free way of getting there, I'd opt for the dolmus everytime. It's just more interesting.

I have ended up with stranger's kids sat on my knee before now on the dolmus. But who cares? All part of the fun.

And it really isn't that much of a trek. And very much worth it anyway once you get there. Have a great day!  8)

If you get to Oludeniz you can get free pick ups to the private beach such as Billy's and Sugar Beach. They pick up and drop off all the time.
I love to see Olu as you come down the hill, it's beautiful.  However, prefer to stay in Calis and just visit Oludeniz. Calis can be pretty beautiful too when you sit at one of the restaurants on the prom and look out to the islands.

I've never experienced a bad driver H. We've had great times on the dolmus wherever we went, Kaya, Olu Deniz, Gemiler etc, no bother at all.

Counting his banknotes and steering with his elbows whilst driving us from Karagozler to Kulele Koyu was fun !!!!
And don't talk to me about the use of mobile phones whilst driving  ;D ;D ;D
Having said that, we've never (in 7 years) experienced an 'incident'

During our first two visits to Calis we were a bit worried about the idea of getting 2 dolmus (or should that be dolmi?) to Olu Deniz, but on our 3rd visit we gave it a go, and it is very easy, and a nice drive,  When the dolmus stops in Fethiye centre there is a man who shouts at you to tell you which dolmus to get for your chosen location, on both occasions it was parked directly behind the one we had just alighted from.  It was not at all complicated and well worth the trip.

It is the Sahilden dolmus to Fethiye that parks in front of the Olu Deniz dolmus.  If you get the Dolmus going to Fethiye via Gunlukbasi it terminates at a different spot though not far away.
