Well, here in the U.K. in case you don't know living in Turkey you may not get the same feel for the situation as we do in the U.K.    There have been a number of terrorist plots foiled one in the last couple of weeks. He is not doing such a bad job.

P.S Just noticed. My ID number at work ended with 911, my Bristol library card ends 911, and now my number of "Likes" is 911. And this on a terrorist-related thread! Could somebody please add an extra "Like" or several people "Unlike" several threads that they previously "Liked". And will JohnF please not freeze my personal account to make me stay on 911 for ever. Ta.

Freeze your account?  Jeez, I'll be staying as far away from you as possible and maybe you should stay away from Edinburgh as well, too close to home!

  :)

And how did you happen to come by this secret national security information?

Simple, I watch the news and read the papers.  How do you get your information??  Perhaps you did not see this on the BBC news or on the other T.V. Stations or in the press last week.???

Your link:

David Cameron says UK foiled 7 terror plots in recent months

Oh well, if Cameron says so it must be right! Government says Government is doing well!!! Whoever would have thought that? Dear, dear.

I'd like to believe that it is true and tend to do so.

I wonder why the people with Socialist/Communist views want to disbelieve everything that seems to be good news, just because we have a Conservative Government.  It is so sad.
I am sure our Security Forces are working hard to keep us all safe no matter how we vote.
On another point, Reference you comment Government doing well.  The Labour Party has vote has dropped in all the Independant Poles this week and is well below the Conservatives, UKIP is above the Liberals....and there is no way the Conservatives have fixed these poles.  I am sure the Labour Party will come to their senses soon and try and find a strong leader.

So if/when there is a terrorist attack on British soil what will you say then? Just curious.

They already have said Nichola by setting the current threat level at SEVERE which means that an attack is highly likely.

Anyone who thinks it is possible to stop every attack is deluding themselves in my opinion.

No matter what peoples political persuasion, I believe it is incumbent on all of us to put our trust in our security services some of who are quite possibly putting their lives on the line on a daily basis.

As someone who lives in the U.K. I would say I would be very sad.   Very sad as I was during the troubles when I visited family in  N.Ireland and saw the misery first hand and  witnessed all the security checks, had my handbag check in all the shops and all the pubs and restaurants, also witnessed first hand, the bomb alerts in Belfast, even to rushing back to our car and hearing a bomb going off,  had friends in the Police Force and saw our Security Services working hard and felt the pain of the people living in N.Ireland of never feeling completely safe, but, I knew the Security Services were doing their very best, but nothing is 100% infallible.   Having experience this for years I would hate to see this situation coming to the mainland, but I feel in some way it may be coming and sooner than we think.
I would hope there would be no incidents in the U.K. However, I know the British Security Services are again  working hard for us to stop any incidents and they would be no matter who was in Government.  This is not an argument about who is in power in the U.K.  It is about our security services who do not care about politics they care about saving British lives.
What would you feel living and working abroad all these years and away from it all ?
