I too love Istanbul but I don't think I will ever go back there.

Does that mean you'll never go to London, Paris, Madrid etc etc?

We have already booked and payed for our flights to Dalaman. We have not yet booked where we want to stay but hope it is in Calis. With two daughter we are now very wary of coming  to Turkey because of what is happening. To be honest my hubby says its better if we don't look at this site as its biased to Turkey. Not sure what he means but can guess from reading responses to this topic. It would be nice to read some good and encouraging news for a change rather than the dismal. Will be our first time to Turkey and want to look forward to it not scared of it as is what is beginning to happen.

What exactly does he mean this this site "biased to Turkey"?

Biased in a positive way to it, or biased against it?

What he means is that a lot of members have properties and financial interests in Turkey. So will always favour holidays in Turkey. For people like ourselves we have to listen to the advice of the FCO. Some of you have raised concerns but others have not. What are we to think and what message are you wanting us to believe.

I think you will find messages from many people who want to go, and many from people who are concerned and might not go. Maybe that is biased to Turkey where you come from.

With respect, it is entirely your decision but if you have listened to the advice of the FCO then you will go.

People on here have expressed their opinions which is surely what an open forum is all about. You surely didn't expect all members to have the same view.

...but where is safe?
We are no more at risk in Turkey than we are anywhere else in the world, or indeed here at home.

Agreed - but it depends on how things go. You can get blown up anywhere, but (as mentioned before) if there is a series of explosions on dolmuses for example, there's no way I'm paying to expose my family to that risk.
