I dont trust this. Turn up, hope for availability on the flight, then get landed in Antalya.....then what happens when you are coming home...turn up again, hope for availability on the return flight, and if no seats stuck in Antalya and have to buy new flights? No. Not taking a chance.

I agree with you Sue! I have just rang Barclaycard and they said that they cannot guarantee a refund. I would have to send a letter and the statement and then they would assess the case which would presumably take a few weeks or months. Has anyone been able to contact Atlasjet?

I also contacted Barclaycard, who were very unhelpful!

My problem may be that I made the "purchase" more than six months ago.  I too have decided to book other flights, then fight my case, both to Barclaycard and to KTHY, to try and get some money back.

There's no way am I going to go all the way to Gatwick (almost 3 hours away) to find there are no flights available!

Just when we thought things were looking up!

It strikes me that the credit card companies will do everything they can to avoid payment. Read this link that I posted earlier in this topic which explains everything and even gives you a template in legal terminology which you should use to make your claim and where the goalposts are. In a nutshell if you buy something with your  credit card(which includes a flight) and the cost is in excess of £100 and below £30000 and for whatever reason you do not receive that something the card companies ARE responsible for reimbursing you. Read this article fully it is very informative and it will tell you how the card companies will try and wriggle out off their legal liability under section 75. You are also since 2006 covered for abroad purchases.

Thanks Tribalelder.  Have printed out all I need, including the template letter, and will work on it tonight when I'm home from work.

I'll report back if I get any response from the credit card company.

new flights booked. Immensely out of pocket, but just means a quieter than usual holiday, with more time spent at villa rather than living it up in His!!!! :))) I can handle that??? :)

Me too Sue.  Found some good(ish) flights with Monarch.  All booked, but like you, hugely out of pocket.

Oh well, at least we've got our holiday to look forward to again (though mine are now 4 days shorter - well, I had to keep the cost down somewhere!)

We wont be out much either (no money left!)  You can play in our pool if we can play in yours - at least it'll be a change of scenery!!!  :D :) 8)

Just pleased that we can now look forward to a holiday!  At least all our excursions are pre-booked so we'll have a great time anyway!  (I'm sooo organised!!)   :)

Good luck to everyone who has flights booked with kthy - I just hope they manage to sort something out soon.  [:o)]

Hi guys, we too have flights booked with KTHY but don't depart until Aug 6th. I have spoke to Atlasjet, unless things have changed in the last 12hrs, they are dealing with each enquiry as it arises. Helpline number is - 0090 216 444 3387.
I have to call back next monday.
Credit Cards wont do a damn thing until flight has been cancelled or company goes under, which I feel wont happen.
I know flights from stanstead - N Cyprus have flown, and I can't see the goverment allowing their flagship to go bump.
But as we all have found there's no real conclusive info available.
Ive been on a dozen Turkish/Cypriot news websites and all but one say deals 95% done.
