Introducing our 2012 Project - Bozalan School

To bring everyone up to date (or as up to date as I can get!!!) - the list has been regularly crossed off today. Things are taking a little bit longer because I am scared to death of putting someone's name next to their donation when they didn't want that! If I could ask one thing, can you let me know if you prefer your name to be withheld. Although I think you should tell the World you supported our project - we're proud of you and it might help others to see the people who are donating and join in.

Next job is to allocate the money raised where no specific items were chosen. I can tell you that we have several hundred pounds to allocate and add to the crossed off items. Where are we - less than a week in - and so far we went from a slow start to a very impressive fund raising in that time.

We are grateful for EVERY donation, the one pounds to the 500TLs - the fact that you want to help this school like we do is all that is important. On the subject of 500TL, I will write to the "Turkish buisness lady" mentioned above(after sending pi55y one of those spelling books!) to thank her - I would dearly love to tell you who it is but anonymity is a right and must be respected.

Just...thank you to everyone who has donated and to those yet to do so - please consider buying a light fitting or some slippers - it's bloody cold up there and as you know, in Turkey they leave their shoes outside!!! Try and do it before the end of the week - as it is my Bob Geldof "Just send me the ****ing money" event this weekend  ;)

Lovely to hear that a Turkish person is donating.
It must be gratifying for the charity to know they have approval and someone willing to support the work they do.
She may also spread the word and start more donations coming in.

Yes I agree Heather and it goes back to post 1 page 1 of this topic. With greatest of respect, Turkish people don't tend to offer to donate as much as we do, but if you ask them they are generally delighted to and very generously too. Not trying to stereotype, that is my experience of Turkish people and good causes and I hope that will help some of you give your restaurant/hotel/boat/tour shop/management company/estate agent friend a gentle nudge - it isn't even embarrassing to ask over there I promise :D

'Tis very strange GB, in my paypal account I can see your kind donation, but it is the only one that didn't have an email notification telling me. Thanks though  :)

I know that this is just my thoughts at the moment...IF and when we visit Calis this year , would the school accept manual labour from my family ( painting , joinery, small handy work ).
We as a family 3kids would and are willing to offer our time to them.
If in some way we could give extra help/time/money then please lett us know.
Well done to Scunner and CCC for making us aware.

Please tell me if Iam being rude regarding this as I think I could give more than money to help theese kids.
Sorry if I am reading things the wrong way.

Sorry for the double post.
