On a more serious note I think similar things can be applied across the area, ie including Hisaronu, Ovacik, Olu etc. My main gripe revolves around unfinished projects, be they buildings, roads, pavements etc and the crap that is left behind by these projects. Why cant these builders take their crap with them.

As regards to builders leaving their rubbish, I was told that it was cheaper for them to pay the fine (if caught) than pay to dispose of it.  Where's the incentive in that...............

If you cant get a workman who comes to your house to clean up after themselves how do you propose you get builders, road workers etc to do it!!!!!!Even the Beleyedir (sorry for the spelling) dont clear up the mess they leave.Just look at Barış Manço Bulvarı today.

How to get more people to Calis ?

Lots of hotels in major tour operators' brochures would do the trick.

I am sure that a lot of holiday seekers start their search using brochures and web sites and Calis just does not feature in many of the places that people start looking.

Blueclad post No6 has the main points of complaints from those on tripadvisor.

The beach and prom would be easy to keep tidy if as Scunner suggested the bars etc took charge of them, may be harder to do where a shop has frontage on the prom but i'm sure with a bit of education and then seeing how good it could look would make most of them happy to do it.
The banning of any form of transport on the prom should be strictly policed.

The other areas are not so easy to keep tidy, thats up to the council and to get them to show interest seems to me to be near impossible, also the the lack of policing regarding fly tipping or in this area simply known as tipping..

As for flights - from the UK, the big fellows have it all stitched up they have a monopoly so other countries trying to get in find it very expensive. On a similar point most of the uk holiday firms tend to push the likes of Marmaris, Bodrum and Antalya rather than here, whether they have a bigger grip on these locations and make more out of them i don't know.

I have a few more points to mention but will see how the topic progresses first.

I do agree with keith about them keeping their own bit of beach clean etc but to be honest some of them cannot even keep a table clean that i have sat down at.
