It was bound to happen and has been happening every week since whatever date it was when each of us discovered Calis. I believe that Calis was best at the time any of us first found it, and that people who discover it this year for the first time will think that too.

I miss Calis of yesteryear greatly - but it is important to appreciate the investment in the area. You can't keep a resort looking like it did years ago. Apart from Clacton of course.

Generally, we are opposed to change and prefer the familiar. I reckon we'll just have to wait and see what the changes result in.

Scunner, I have to  disagree with you that Clacton is the same as it was years ago.  We live very close to Clacton and I wish it had stayed the same.  It is now an absolute despot of a place.
