Yes DryPete, some friends of ours who have a villa and have let it out for a number of years now have only got 1 booking so far for next season. By now, most of the school summer holiday has already been booked.

.. and flight prices are definitely falling as a result.

I looked at 2xMan- Dal with Monarch before the trouble and they were £333 each with Leeds Bradford even more.

I can now get L/B for £302 each for the same dates.

I assume as more decide to go elsewhere that they will drop even further and flights will be cancelled and consolidated.

If prices do fall easyJet customers can get a rebate voucher for same flight-lower price. Voucher valid against your next flight (within time limit).

It's not us few on here who need convincing, Saga Louts, I think we are all pretty much determined to still holiday there come hell or high water, it is "them out there" who need convincing. :(

Yep, I think that pretty much covers it. Like all the other incidents in the past, we all carry on regardless but those with no particular link or bond with Turkey don't have the same desire or resolve. You can't blame them either really.

We shall book our flights and support our friends by staying in their hotels, eating in their restaurants, hiring their boats etc.

But we go in October, and I just hope they all make it through till then - it is going to be a very tough season. Probably the toughest in decades.

We have booked all our flights for next year.May,July and Sept  :).I don't think i'm at any more risk in Turkey, than travelling to work on the train everyday in London.
