A friend of ours who owns a medium sized hotel received 10 cancellations within just four hours after the bombing.

We came home from a two week visit yesterday.
Calis was much quieter than normal for this time of the year, many restaurants having little or no customers on some of the nights we ventured down.  The beach was quiet during the day too, although we did notice that the Aroma Beach Club and a few places beyond there were a little busier but, still nothing near to what we normally expect.
On our last night we had arranged to meet friends around midnight in Frank Cannons for a quick one when they arrived.  We were the only two in and they eventually cleared all the table cloths etc from the tables.  We left after one drink as it was plain they wanted to go home.  The whole of the street was literally closed with lights off and staff gone.  It really was a sorry sight :(
On a couple of visits to Fethyie of an evening most places too were very quiet.  Only the lokantas seemed to be doing any real business.
It didn't stop us having a great time though but I fear many poor souls will have no businesses or jobs before the season ends if it continues.

We paid our second visit to the Matisse last night for our Anniversary.  We noted how full the place was but mostly as we could see it was Turkish customers.

Just been to Belek on a golfing break, the hotel we stayed in usualy has 96 rooms full this time of year the manager told us
there was only nine rooms booked. it was very quiet, and some of the hotels haven't bothered opening.
And on the golf courses were the same, usualy we have  difficulty getting a tee time, but no problem this time,
All in All very quiet.

Lying by the pool in OLU,  flight out was full. Resort a bit quieter, but filling up nicely. If you ever get chance to go on a Thomson dreamliner plane take it, smoothest flight ever, tvs in back of comfy size seats. One for the road bar still can make you feel drunk with one cocktail, it's good to be back. Lots to think about Happy Holidays x

Had a few nights in a small Dalyan Htl and we had  the only room booked out of 12. They had not even filled pool until we arrived. Told us that after ramadan they were hoping for the Turkish to replace their normal tourists.

We are off to Turkey on Sunday. This year we are taking daughter #1, her husband and their daughter. Our granddaughter is four: this will be the first time she has flown and the first time she has been abroad. She is very excited. Last week she was watching CBbeebies "I Can Cook" and they were making borek and she found out they are Turkish and she absolutely must have some. That can easily be arranged.
